Though most of us don’t think much about it while we commute to work or run errands, driving is inherently dangerous. It may not seem important, but water can serve many purposes. Not only can it hydrate you, but it can be poured into your radiator should your car overheat, or help to clean oil off of your clothes.

When you’re stuck in the car without a working heater, temperatures can get very cold overnight – especially if you live in a colder part of the country. It is helpful to keep blankets, sweatshirts, and even thermal sleeping bags in your trunk. You can use a blanket as a makeshift tarp, window shade, or towel if needed.

Flat tires can be incredibly frustrating and a major inconvenience. That’s why having a spare tire and knowing how to change it is critical. Be sure to have the necessary tools – a jack, tire iron/wrench, and pipe – in your car.
