Graves McLain Law Firm Gives Free Backpacks to Entire Student Body at Jackson Elementary School

Purchasing new backpacks, school supplies, clothes, and everything else kids need to succeed in the classroom can quickly become very expensive. At Graves McLain Law Firm, we wanted to do our part to help students and families at one North Tulsa elementary school get their upcoming school year off to a strong start with the “Graves McLain Free Backpack Program.”

The “Graves McLain Free Backpack Program” provided free, brand new backpacks and school supplies to every single student at Jackson Elementary School in North Tulsa. Graves McLain teamed up with the Tulsa Police Department, Tulsa Public Schools, Partners in Education, and All Souls Church to organize the Free Backpack Program and help make a difference in the lives of students at Jackson Elementary.

On the morning of Tuesday, 8/23 Jackson Elementary students received their backpacks and school supplies at a very special school assembly. Attorney Chad McLain delivered an inspirational message to the students about the importance of working hard and dreaming big. Graves McLain was also named a Partner in Education with Jackson Elementary School, and an Official Partner with Tulsa Partners in Education.

Attorney McLain was joined on stage by several other community leaders that also provided inspirational messages to the students. Speakers included Jackson Elementary School Principal Elmer Thomas, and Captain Mike Williams, a 30 year veteran of the Tulsa Police Department.

Backpacks were distributed to Jackson Elementary students by the attorneys at Graves McLain, and officers from the Tulsa Police Department’s Gilcrease Division. Everyone involved with this program was so thrilled to see the smiles on the students’ faces when they received their fully loaded, brand new backpacks!

Graves McLain is honored to have received so much incredible support from the Tulsa community on our first Free Backpack Program. We hope to continue and expand the Graves McLain Free Backpack Program to more schools in North Tulsa next year.

At Graves McLain, we would like to thank Captain Mike Williams and the entire Gilcrease Division of the Tulsa Police Department for all the great work they do to help keep our community safe. We want to thank Reverend Marlin Levanhar, Nancy McDonald, and all of the wonderful volunteers from All Souls Church that helped stuff all the backpacks with your school supplies.
